Firmly rooted in the classical work of Joseph Pilates,
the unique strength and forward thinking of the Pilates Center of Austin
curriculum lies in its integration of the profound legacy of his work
with contemporary physiotherapy principles.
Our Teacher Training Programis
based upon our Core Connections dynamic teaching model of mapping & toning
the body's vital fitness relationships through an expanded concept of
neutral postural support, bone anchoring, muscle usage and breath as
energy for movement. Our highly experienced staff is masterful at enabling
students in their journey, creating with them a roadmap to astutely "read"
the body's vital fitness connections.

"I've learned to challenge
my body through movements that I would have thought impossible,
but with breath awareness and profound coaching, I have learned
to move beyond long perceived limitations with a new sense of
grace
and ease."

In our Programs, students are not only coached and
challenged to develop a comprehensive understanding of these core principles,
but are also guided to develop a deep inner wisdom as both teachers and
lifelong students. Far greater than just learning to teach a litany of exercises
the "right way", the Pilates Center of Austin curriculum engages
the student in a dynamic inquiry into the heart of what it means to be an
effective teacher. Our Program promises the transformation from a student
into a true teacher and coach--one who has a deep awareness and appreciation
of the body/mind's limitless possibilities, accompanied by the skills and
insight to make a profound difference with those they will be teaching.

"This program is giving
me an understanding of the body in a holistic sense, not just
parts.
It is opening up areas of my body that I never thought could be
opened up or needed to be opened up ... another 'I didn't know
that
I didn't know."
